Giordano Zambelli

Giordano obtained his MA in Philosophy in 2015 at the University of Milan, after which he has worked during 4 years as a communication and advertising consultant. Between 2018 and 2019 he completed he MSc in Communication Studies at the VUB.

At SMIT, he is focusing on the aspect of innovation processes and polices in the journalistic sector. Specifically, he studies how different actors, such as policy makers, media practitioners and media managers, assign different (and sometimes conflicting) meaning to the concept and the practice of innovation. He is conducting his PhD as a FWO fundamental research fellow. On top of that, from 2020 to 2024, he has been involved in the implementation of the European media innovation programme Stars4Media.
