Jonne van Belle
Biography
Jonne graduated as an industrial design engineer with a specialisation in human-technology relations. At SMIT, she as a researcher and project officer at the Knowledge Centre Data & Society. She works on supporting professionals, organisations and governments on how to develop, implement and use digital technologies in an ethical way.
She is interested in understanding the social impact of technologies and how this can be improved using design and communication. Her research focusses on how to translate ethics into practice, the development of ethical tools and impact of technology on the the workfloor. In her projects she likes to combine ideas from human-centered design, social science and philosophy of technology to find ways to create responsible (use of) technologies.
Currently, Jonne is working on PEER, an EU-funded project about the interaction between human and AI and how to develop human-centred AI-systems in multidisciplinary teams.
In addition, she is working on several projects and activities of the Knowledge Centre Data & Society related to 'ethics in practice' and 'data, AI & work'.
