Lore Van Besien
Biography
Lore has been an account manager at Google since 2007, in the AdWords (now Google Ads) department in Dublin. There, she became an expert in all Google Ads formats and Google Analytics. Lore studied Germanic Languages at the Catholic University in Leuven (KUL). She holds a master’s degree in European Studies from Université Catholique in Louvain-la-neuve, and teaches at Hogeschool Gent. Her language skills are a real asset: she speaks fluent Dutch, French, English and German.
Since 2010, Lore has worked as a consultant and trainer for companies, agencies and universities. She worked intensively on Google projects in the Benelux as Google Engage, Google Partner Academy, Digital Atelier, Digital Masters Academy. As for public speaking, Lore is an often requested expert for NCOI, Solvay Business School, Google Analytics User Conference, Ugent and Karel De Grote Hogeschool. Since 2016, she has taught the course ‘Digital Marketing’ and ‘Digital Masters Academy’ to students of marketing at Thomas More, the University of Applied Sciences in Mechelen.
At VUB, Lore is teaching the class "Digital Marketing Project." During this class, students get the opportunity to work in groups with Google Ad Grants on a real-life case, working together with an approved non-profit organisation. The students propose a marketing strategy and campaigns, which they will run for at least 30 consecutive days. Afterwards, they write a post-campaign report where they tie back in to the original strategy, and they present the results of the campaigns in a live meeting attended by the non-profit organisation.
