Louise Hallström

Louise Hallström joined Imec-SMIT in 2023, following the completion of her master’s degree in communication studies from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. She is a dedicated researcher within the MUX unit at imec-SMIT, contributing to projects centred around personalised and immersive media experiences.

Since August 2026, she has been pursuing a PhD examining how immersive media professionals can integrate ethical reflection practices in development workflows to help ensure that immersive media experiences are inclusive, accessible, and safe. 

With a keen focus on user research, she brings expertise in co-creation methods, living lab methodology, and human-centred design to her work.
