Noëmie Forest
Biography
Noëmie studied Communication Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel with a specialisation in media, strategic communication, and marketing. Her specialisation gave her the chance to immerse herself in this subject through her thesis, “Does one size fit all? – How do five Belgian food brands position themselves on the international market?”. Noëmie dived into the world of different brands, and earned herself a great distinction in 2022. Before joining SMIT, she worked at Think BBDO as strategic executive, to assist organisations in their branding and communication.
Intrigued by the ever-changing media world, she is fascinated by how it shapes audience perceptions and behaviors, impacts local legacy players and shapes our future. From social media to streaming, she analyses how media influences societal norms.
The aim of the "Streaming Affordances for small media markets" project is to gain important insights into the user behavior of Flemish streaming consumers, specifically to determine how and why Flemish streaming consumers make certain choices. In other words: what do people watch, where do they watch, but most importantly, why do people choose those specific titles on those streaming services?
