Prof Dr. Nanouk Verhulst
Biography
Nanouk Verhulst holds a PhD in Business economics (UGent). Furthermore, she graduated as an Organisational Psychologist (2010) and holds a Master’s degree in Management (2011). She is Professor ad interim at the Business department at VUB. She joined imec-SMIT-VUB as a senior researcher in October 2020. As a member of the Centre of Service Intelligence (UGent), she stays up to date with recent developments in Service Research.
Nanouk Verhulst focuses on studying the impact of innovative technologies on customers and employees in service settings. She is a big fan of interdisciplinary research and likes to rely on theories and methods from a variety of disciplines (e.g., psychology, neuroscience, computer science, consumer behavior). Her research mainly starts from an experimental angle while combining neuroscientific tools and traditional measures (e.g., self-report). She positions her research in the domain of Service Research.
She works on various projects on immersive technologies, Transformative Service Research, and the impact of frontline service technologies (e.g., robots, voice assistant) on consumers and employees.
