Sophie Meszaros
Biography
Sophie completed her undergraduate studies in Film Studies, but due to her professional interest she later pursued a Master in European Innovation and Policy, an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree of the University of Salzburg, Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Aalborg Universitet, Denmark. Her international professional experience includes a traineeship at the European parliament, European project management, and being part of the initial team launching the VUB AI Experience Centre.
Sophie’s work supports the digital transformation of smart cities and communities. Her research is on trust in technology in the context of data spaces, local digital twins, and testing and experimentation facilities. She conducts interdisciplinary research and employs both qualitative and quantitative research methods to then finally translate her findings into guidelines, requirements, and recommendations like governance models or data management plans.
Sophie translated her research into a data checklist to help data sharing by translating technical information about datasets to non-technical endusers. She is also a task coordinator in the European project CitCom.ai where she oversees the delivery of the European AI Market Report.
