Aline Duelen

Aline is a PhD researcher focusing on inclusive participatory research methods in technology development, with a particular interest in how citizens, especially those from disadvantaged or underrepresented groups, can be meaningfully engaged in participatory processes. 

Aline’s research is situated within interdisciplinary, technological innovation contexts, and participatory approaches, where she explores how citizen engagement can be made more accessible and meaningful. Specifically, she focuses on the practical and methodological challenges of inclusion, such as recruitment, language accessibility, ethical considerations, and sustaining engagement throughout the research process. 

Methodologically, she applies mixed methods in her research but mainly works with qualitative and participatory approaches, including semi-structured interviews, focus groups, Living Labs, and co-creation workshops. She aims to bridge academic insights with practical tool development, translating empirical findings into actionable guidance for researchers and practitioners working in participatory settings.
