Neena Singh
Biography
Neena has a bachelor's degree in linguistics. In the past, she has worked as a project manager in marketing, events, and advertising. She joined imec-SMIT, VUB in 2018, where she coordinated the DataBuzz project for 5 years, organising workshops in schools to enhance digital literacy among youth.
Within the Knowledge Centre Data & Society, Neena focusses primarily on the amai! project aimed at demystifying AI and reaching groups with limited data literacy. She believes in empowering individuals through equitable knowledge distribution to reflect critically on technology.
For the amai! project, Neena coordinates daily activities to develop educational activities and events, organise workshops, and manage the project call aimed at addressing public-identified issues. Neena also fosters partnerships with media and other institutions for broader outreach. Additionally, she collaborates on the Falling City Project, using artistic interventions to explore technology's societal impact in urban spaces through workshops, lectures, and public discussions on ethical implications. Her role aims to bridge complex technological concepts with public awareness, promoting a more informed and inclusive societal dialogue.
