Prof. Dr. Wendy Van den Broeck

Wendy is associate professor in communication sciences at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Faculty of Social Sciences & Solvay Business School. She is unit lead of the Media, Marketing and User Experience unit (MUX). She is also program director of the interuniversity Bachelor of Social Sciences program (VUB and UGent) and teaches various courses within the communication sciences and Bachelor of social sciences programs at the VUB, focusing on research methodology and online and social media strategies. 

Her research expertise is in the domain of innovative research methods (participatory methods, living lab research) and user research into new media, personalized and immersive media and digital skills and practices. 

Wendy is involved in several Horizon Europe projects in the domain of personalised and immersive media. Current projects include TransMIXR, Titan and Presence. She is also PhD supervisor of multiple PhD candidates within the domain of communication sciences, with focus on media personalisation, social marketing and data literacy. She is also member of the board of Brussels Schools of Governance and VUB program director of the Erasmus Mundus Digital Communication Leadership program.
