In her research she focuses on the introduction of new technologies on the workfloor (e.g. AI in the hospital or translation apps in homecare organisations) and at home (e.g. self-management technology for older adults with multiple chronic conditions).
Currently, Sara works on the European project SEURO where an innovative, people-centric digital solution for multiple disease management is evaluated. She focuses on the research trial among 240 participants in Belgium to learn how the digital solution can be successfully implemented. Moreover, she is involved in a local project at the University Hospital of Brussels. In this project, she helps develop a methodology to identify AI opportunities in hospitals for the common good and support the hospital in the related AI innovation process.
