Eusebie Huysman
Biography
Eusebie Huysman obtained a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences with a focus on Communication Sciences through the joint program of VUB and UGent, where she developed a strong interest in critical and interdisciplinary thinking. She went on to complete a master’s degree in New Media and Digital Cultures at the University of Amsterdam. After graduating, Eusebie returned to VUB to join imec-SMIT.
Eusebie’s PhD research examines how platforms, content creators, and audiences shape digital inequality. It investigates how platform design and affordances influence participation in online discourse through a mixed-methods approach. Her work sits at the intersection of communication studies, platform studies, and digital inequality.
